Comcast/Xfinity leaks data that customers paid extra to keep private

Around 200,000 Comcast/Xfinity customers paid extra to keep their information private, Graham Cluley reports that the “private” data was leaked. The data was posted to ecolisting.com, a site used to replace old paper based telephone directories and make them digital.

The customers were paying extra to keep their names, phone numbers, and addresses out of public databases.

This is not the first time Comcast is in the news for leaking data, Cluley reports that the company was fined $33 million for carelessly publishing the names, phone numbers, and addresses of around 75,000 users in its online directory.
